First of all I suppose I should
address the question, "who is an active senior?" Does one become one
automatically when reaching the big four-0? Well, maybe age forty is a little young
to qualify to join this illustrious group because we can't allow everyone in, can we.
It seems to me that the gradual transition is well under-way by age 50, but let's not dare suggest that to any recently arrived fifty year old for fear of getting our heads knocked off!
In my mind an active senior is anyone still possessing an active brain, and possibly a "relatively" active body, who has reached the point at which he or she is starting to look forward to their "golden years." Yes, I know it's a little vague, so maybe we should stick with the definition used at my local greasy-spoon restaurant. "If you admit to being over fifty, you get a 15% seniors discount." Come up with a better definition, e-mail me and we'll tell the world.
